CILICIA. Hierapolis. 2nd-1st century BC. (Bronze, 20 mm, 8.79 g, 12 h). Turreted, veiled and draped bust of city-goddess to right; behind neck, monogram . Rev. [IEΡO]ΠOΛITΩN / TΩN ΠΡOΣ TΩI / ΠΥΡAMΩI. SNG Levante 1563. Cf. SNG BN 2207-9 ( control ). Well centered on a particularly thick flan. A lovely coin. Very fine.
