LUCANIA. Thourioi. Circa 400-350 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.26 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing an Attic helmet adorned on the bowl with Skylla raising her right hand as if to shade her eyes as she looks off in the distance. Rev. ΘΟΥΡΙΩΝ Bull butting to right; in exergue, fish to right. Cf. HN III 1804 ( distater ). SNG ANS 1000-1 ( same obverse die ). Very rare with Athena facing to the left. Porous, otherwise, about very fine.
