ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.54 g, 12 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΘΑΣΙΩΝ / ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ Herakles standing left, nude but for lion's skin over his shoulder and left arm; resting right hand on club; to left, monogram of MH. HGC 6, 359. SNG Copenhagen 1042. Flan a little wavy, planchet flaw on reverse, otherwise, good fine.
