Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 25.5 mm, 3.38 g, 12 h), Rome, 313. IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG Laureate bust of Constantine to left, in consular robes, holding eagle tipped scepter and globe. Rev. SOLI INVICTO COMITI Sol standing left, raising right hand and holding globe with his left. RIC- apparently unpublished. Overstruck on a Rome follis RIC 345-52; traces of the left vexilum and part of the inscription still visible on the reverse when it is reverted. Good very fine.
This coin was struck shortly after the battle near the Milvian Bridge where Constantine finally defeated Maxentius.
