THRACE. Abdera. Circa 450-425 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.81 g, 3 h), struck under the magistrate Histiaios. Griffin springing to left. Rev. ΕΠΙ ΙΣΤΙ-AΙ-Ο: in shallow incuse square around quadripartite square in relief. HGC 3.2, 1136 var. ( magistrate not noted ). May, Abdera Period IV, but magistrate not noted. Unpublished magistrate. Scratches on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
