EUBOIA. Chalkis. Circa 338-308 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 3.75 g, 11 h). Head of the nymph Chalkis to right, her hair rolled up around her head, wearing a pendant earring and a pearl necklace. Rev. X-A-Λ Eagle flying upwards with open wings, tearing at snake held in its talons; in the field to right, trident-head downwards. BCD Euboia 142. HGC 4, 1463. Picard, Group 1, em. 10, (O2/R- this obverse die, but reverse die unrecorded ). A lovely example, perfectly struck and most attractive. Minor marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
