Description

BRUTTIUM. Laos. Circa 480-460 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 7.98 g, 9 h), c. 475-470 (?). ϟΑΛ Man-faced bull standing to left, his head turned back to right; in exergue, acorn. Rev. ϟΑΛ Man-faced bull standing to right. HN III 2277. Kraay & Hirmer 216 ( same dies ). Sternberg 15 (V1/R9). SNG Lockett 363 ( this coin ). Nicely toned and struck on a broad flan. Some minor die faults and, on the obverse, traces of overstriking, otherwise, good very fine.
