GREEK COINS Thrace Apollonia Pontika, mid 4th century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23mm, 16.93g 6), under the magistrate Kleinias. Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. ΚΛΕΙΝΙΑΣ Anchor with Α to left and crayfish to right. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 455 (but obverse head to right), otherwise unpublished except for the examples that appeared as NAC 66, 38 and Lanz 156, 80 . Very rare, the third and best example known . A lovely coin, of excellent style and struck in high relief. Extremely fine. From a collection in the USA.
