Youthful Dionysos seated sidesaddle on an ass walking to left, holding a kantharos in his right hand and a thyrsos in his left; around, three pellets ( mark of value ). Rev. NAKONAION Head of a nymph to right, her hair bound in a fillet, wearing single-pendant earring and necklace. BNC 1. CNS 1. HGC 2, 956. MAST 6.28 ( this coin ). SNG ANS 512. Easily one of the finest examples known. Greenish-black patina. Minor roughness, otherwise, good very fine.
