Description

NORTHWEST GAUL. Aulerci Eburovices. Circa 2nd-early 1st century BC. Hemistater (Electrum, 19 mm, 3.10 g, 11 h), 'au sanglier' type. Celticized male head to left; below, boar standing to left. Rev. Charioteer driving chariot to right; below, boar standing to right with pellet below; to right, pellet within annulet. D&T 2401. Well-struck and particularly pleasant. Good very fine.

From the Apollo to Apollo Collection, ex Rasmussen 894, 12 May 2020, 349, Gorny & Mosch 203, 5 March 2012, 9 and originally acquired from Richielieu Numismatique in Paris on 2 October 2008.
