Description

NORTHWEST GAUL, Carnutes. Circa late 3rd-early 2nd centuries BC. Quarter Stater (Gold, 13 mm, 2.06 g, 6 h). Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Griffin to right; below, a rayed annulet. D&T 2516. Very rare. Clearly struck and well-centered. Nearly very fine.
