GAUL. Massalia. Circa 500-470 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.16 g), Auriol type. Lion's head to right, open jaws and protruding tongue. Rev. Irregular quadripartite incuse square. Brenot 26. F/Py OBA-T. Furtwängler T 21. Maurel 55. Sharply struck in high relief and beautifully toned. Extremely fine.
