Description
GAUL. Massalia. Circa 470-450 BC. Obol (Silver, 9.3 mm, 0.69 g). Archaic head of Apollo to left, wearing tainia and with an almond-shaped eye. Rev. Swastika-shaped incuse square. F/Py OBB-3. LT II, 504, 508. Boldly struck, well-centered and lightly toned. Good very fine.
From the Montecristo Collection, acquired in 1987.
