Description

GAUL. Massalia. Circa 125-90 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16.5 mm, 2.75 g, 6 h), Light Standard. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis to right, wearing earring and pendent necklace, and with her bow and quiver over her shoulder. Rev. MAΣΣA Lion prowling to right; in exergue, ΟΑ. BN 1424-1425. F/py DRM 49-4. Well struck and lightly toned. Extremely fine.

From the Montecristo Collection, acquired privately in 1991.
