Description

LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 300-250 BC. (Bronze, 16 mm, 3.02 g, 2 h). Head of Dionysos to left, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. META Ear of grain with leaf to right; above leaf, cross-torch. HGC 1, 1182. HN III 1683. Johnston, Bronze 47. Attractive greenish black pationa. Areas of minor roughness, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
