SICILY. Akragas. Circa 465/460-445/440 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24.5 mm, 17.06 g, 9 h). AKRAC-ANTOΣ ( partially retrograde ) Eagle with folded wings to left. Rev. Crab seen from above. HGC 2, 77. SNG ANS 979. SNG Copenhagen 42 ( this obverse die ). SNG Lewis 289 ( this reverse die ). SNG Lloyd 801 ( this obverse die ). Westermark, Period II, Gr. III, - (O13/R68, unlisted die combination ). Clear, lightly toned and attractive, with a noble looking eagle. Extremely fine.
