LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 340-330 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 8.02 g, 9 h), Ami.... Head of Leukippos to right, wearing Corinthian helmet; to left, lion head to right; below chin, monogram of ΠΑ. Rev. META Barley ear of seven grains, leaf to left; club above leaf; below, AMI. HN Italy 1575. Johnston Class B, 2.1 (same dies). SNG Lockett 409 (same dies). Attractive late Hellenistic style; powerful portrait. Very fine.
