A Migration Period Silver Gilt Brooch with two Garnets
Circa 5th-6th century AD.
Bow brooch with rectangular head plate and lozenge-shaped foot. Head plate and foot are richly decorated with chip carved ornament. The foot is further embellished with two garnets and terminates in a stylised animal head. Foot cracked and broken; some hornsilver deposits.
