Nike, holding goad in her right hand and the reins in both, driving quadriga moving at walk to the right., Zeus-Ammon standing facing, his head turned to the left, holding phiale (sort of round bowl without a base, used for rituals) in his right hand and long staff in his left; to left, thymiaterion (censer used during religious ceremonies)., Graded NGC AU Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5, edge marks, Magistrate: Polyanthes, this sublime and extremely rare specimen bears several graffiti (of belonging?) as well as marks on the edge, Oriented at 12h, there are two marks on the edge, at 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock, probably marks of a touchstone, On the observe, a cross in the exergue and an "A" under the leftmost horse's head of the quadriga, On the reverse, between Zeus's calf and the sceptre, an 'X' is visible, and there may be another graffito (ϕ?) just to the left of the censer,

Nike, tenant une pique dans la main droite et les rênes dans les deux mains, conduisant un quadrige au pas vers la droite., Zeus-Ammon debout, de face, la tête tournée vers la gauche, tenant une phiale (sorte de coupe ronde sans pied, utilisée pour les rituels) dans la main droite et un long sceptre dans la main gauche ; à gauche, un thymiaterion (encensoir utilisé lors des cérémonies religieuses)., Gradé NGC AU Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5, edge marks, Magistrat : Polyanthes, Ce sublime et rarissime exemplaire porte plusieurs graffitis (d'appartenance ?) ainsi que des marques sur la tranche, Orientée à 12h, on observe deux marques sur la tranche, à 12h et 3h, probablement des traces de pierre de touche, Au droit, on observe à l'exergue une croix, ainsi qu'un "A" sous la tête du cheval du cheval le plus à gauche du quadrige, Au revers, entre le mollet de Zeus et le sceptre, un "X" est visible, et il se peut que juste à gauche de l'encensoir se trouve un autre graffiti (ϕ ?),
Ophellas est un ami d'enfance d'Alexandre le Grand, qui a participé à ses conquêtes et à l'occasion desquelles il sera mentionné comme triérarque de la flotte d'Alexandre sur l'Indus, en 326 av, JC, Lors de la partition de l'empire d'Alexandre, Ophellas s'allie au satrape d'Égypte, Ptolémée Ier Sôter, Ce dernier l'envoi en 322 av, JC en Cyrénaïque à la tête d'une armée considérable, pour libérer la ville de Cyrène, assiégée par Thribon, un commandant mercenaire lacédémonien qui avait assassiné le trésorier en fuite d'Alexandre le Grand et dont il a subtilisé une partie de l'énorme trésor, Ophellas écrase Thibron, rattache la Cyrénaïque à l'Egypte et prend sa place en tant que gouverneur de Cyrène pour le compte de Ptolémée, Il récupère ainsi le trésor d'Alexandre, dont on peut supposer qu'il aura servi à frapper l'exceptionnel et très rare stater d'or que nous vous proposons à la vente,, ΚΥΡΑΝΑΙΟΝ, ΠΟΛΥΑΝΘΕΥΣ
