SYRIA, DECAPOLIS, GADARA, Commodus, AD 177-192. AE (30mm, 19,18g, 12h), dated 243 (AD 179/80). Laureate head of Commodus right; ΑΥΤ Κ Λ ΑΥΡ ΚΟΜΜΟΔΟΝ / Statue of Zeus seated left inside temple with four columns, holding long sceptre in left hand, and uncertain object (palm ?) in right hand; ΠΟ ΓΑΔ ΙƐ Α Γ Κ C ΓΜC (date). RPC IV online 6684 (temporary). Spijkerman 61. Very Fine, green patina with some earthen deposits.
