ROMAN EMPIRE. Theodosius I. 379-395 AD. Gold Solidus (4.36 gm; 20 mm). Constantinopole mint, struck 388-92 AD. Laurel and rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Constantinopolis enthroned facing, head right, right foot on prow, holding sceptre and shield inscribed VOT/X/MVLT/XV in four lines; lion's heads on throne; B//CONOB. Depeyrot 38/1; RIC 71a; RSC 11. Lovely strike on a nice full flan. Choice AU. Fully lustrous.
