Avec son poids de 1,65g, ce denier est de Charlemagne et non de Charles le Chauve. Le second type du monnayage de Charlemagne avec l’apparition du monogramme de Carolus est daté des années 793/794. Le Capitulaire de Francfort de juin 794 mentionne des nouveaux deniers, plus lourds que les anciens, frappés à 192 à la livre (322,56g.).

Very Rare!! - striking split
With a weight of 1.65g, this denarius is for Charlemagne and not for Charles the Bald. The second type of Charlemagne's coinage with the introduction of the Karolus monogram appears in 793/794. The Capitular of Frankfurt from June 794 mentions new denarii, heavier than the older ones struck at 192 to the pound (322.56g).
