Description

Galba AV Aureus. Tarraco, April - December AD 68. GALBA IMP, laureate head to right, globe at point of bust / LIBERTAS PVBLICA, Libertas standing to left, holding pileus and leaning on sceptre. RIC I -, cf. 23 (denarius); C. 117; BMCRE 176 note; Calicó 485 (same dies). 7.64g, 18mm, 7h.

Very Fine. Extremely Rare; not in RIC, not represented in the BM collection, and no other examples sold at auction in the preceding 20 years.
