Description

Kings of Thrace, Lysimachos AR Tetradrachm. Amphipolis, circa 288-281 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander to right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated to left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to right, ΛΥΣΙΜΑXΟΥ crowned by Nike to left, monogram in inner left field, monogram on throne. Thompson -, cf. 204 for monogram in inner left field; Müller 545-6 var. (both with one of the monograms only); cf. Triton XVII (2014), 108 (same obv. die). 17.18g, 30mm, 12h.

Good Extremely Fine; struck in high relief and with attractive golden toning.
