Description

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Crown, 1900 LXIV, old veiled head left, T.B. below truncation for engraver Thomas Brock, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA. DEI. GRA. BRITT. REGINA. FID. DEF. IND. IMP., rev. St. George and the Dragon right, broken lance to left on groundline, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge inscribed in raised letters and dated, DECUS ET TUTAMEN* ANNO REGNI LXIV* (Bull 2609; ESC 319; S.3937). Signs of light circulation wear, some residual lustre, graded by NGC as MS61.

NGC Certification 6383365-001

Calendar year mintage 353,356.

The Latin legend translates as “Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Empress of India.” The edge inscription translates as “An ornament and safeguard in the Sixty-Fourth year of reign.”
