Description

CHINA. Zhejiang Dixingding. Provincial Mound Ingots. Silver 5 Tael Local Tax ingot, Year 24 (1844). Ch’ing (Qing) Dynasty. VERY FINE.
cf.BMC-Class XLIII Group A # 552. Weight: 189.75 gms. "Jiang Shan" (Jiangshan county). "Er Shi Si Nian" (24th Year). "Yu Cheng" (Yucheng Bank). Two additional stamps "Ku" (Treasury) have been added, one to the obverse and one to the reverse. All stamps are somewhat weak in the centers, but clear enough for full identification. The surfaces are quite nice displaying attractive mottled light grey to slate patina.
