MYSIA. Pergamon. Kingdom of Pergamon. Eumenes I, 263-241 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (16.54 gms), Pergamon Mint, ca. 255/0-241 B.C. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Fine Style.

SNG BN-1618. Struck in the name of Philetairos. Obverse: Laureate head of Philetairos right; Reverse: Athena seated left on throne, resting elbow upon shield to right and crowning dynastic name to left; transverse spear in background, grape bunch to outer left, A to inner left, bow to right. Though exhibiting some minor surface roughness, this powerful piece presents an otherwise toned appearance and a forceful Attalid portrait as is indicated by its 'fine style' designation.
