SYRIA. Seleukid Kingdom. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (17.07 gms), Babylon I Mint, ca. 311-300 B.C. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Fine Style.

SC-82.5a; Pr-3746; HGC-9, 10f. In the name and types of Alexander III (the Great) of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; monogram within wreath in left field; below throne, MI below strut. Flashy and argent, this piece exhibits some minor marks and scuffs, but nevertheless presents little in the way of actual wear.
