Description

NETHERLANDS. Gelderland. Nijmegen. Ecu, ND (ca. 1555). Charles V. NGC EF-45.
Dav-8543; Delm-633. The NGC population shows this piece as being one of only four examples graded, none graded above AU 58 and none listed on the PCGS population. A wholesome example of the type that exhibits nice even wear on the high points and original looking surfaces, slight evidence of being double struck most prevalent in small portions of the obverse legend add character. Lovely rich cabinet tone offer good eye appeal and much originality. A difficult issue to locate in a problem free state of preservation, this being one of the lucky few that were spared from the maltreatment often seen on many early European Talers.
From the Habsburg Collection.
Estimate: $500.00- $1000.00
