Oregon Trail Memorial
1939 Oregon Trail Memorial. MS-68 (NGC).
Classic tab toning, from time this coin spent in its original mailer, graces essentially pristine surfaces. Russet and golden-olive toning accented by fire-orange and jade-green create a lovely overall appearance. Totally undisturbed full satiny luster gleams at every viewing angle. The final Oregon Trail Memorial half dollar issue, the 1939 was produced to the extent of 3,000 coins and was first distributed as part of three-piece PDS sets by the Oregon Trail Memorial Association. The official sale price was $7.50 per set, up $1 per set from the previous year. This is the scarcest date of the type and is typically found in grades of MS-66 and lower. This MS-68 (NGC) is a truly exceptional survivor, tied for finest graded at NGC.
