Counterstamps
(rooster) on an 1847 Braided Hair large cent Brunk ETC-27, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Fine, but holed.
An unusual subject to be stamped, but there are a few known examples. However, Brunk does not report one on a large cent, so this is a new example. He also suggests that they emanated from Massachusetts.
