CHAS. BLOOD on an 1851 Braided Hair large cent. Brunk B-794, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Very Fine.
There are many Charles Bloods found in the state of Massachusetts and it is probable that this is either the stamp of Charles Lawson Blood (1836-1888), a Taunton, MA blacksmith working from the late 1850s until his death in 1888, or Charles Blood (1824-1892), a Groton, MA tinsmith working during the same time period. Brunk gives no attribution as to an issuer. This is the exact and only example reported in Brunk.
