Republic Reales

MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1852-Ca RG (5/4). Chihuahua Mint. NGC MS-61.

KM-377.2; DP-Ca23. Lustrous and toned, with adjustment marks across the eagle and a faint "X" scratched in the field near the "R" of "REPUBLICA". Only the third we have offered of this date and the first in Mint State. Although the lines across the eagle are traditionally called adjustment marks, they are more likely the result of defects in the rollers used to flatten the strips of silver prior to the planchets being punched. All known examples of this date show the 5/4, the result of an obverse hub recycled from the 1840's.

亮麗無包漿，鷹像可 見調整痕跡，"REPUBLICA" 的 "R" 附近底板有不明顯的 X 刮 痕。我們經手此日期的第三枚，MS 評分則屬首次。 橫跨鷹像的綫條常被成為調整痕跡。實際上更似是坯餅在接受鑄打前，用以平整銀片的滾輪有瑕疵，因而而留下痕跡。所有已知同款幣的日期均顯示 5/4。因正面循環再用了 1840 年代的轂。
