Standing Liberty Quarter
1929-D Standing Liberty Quarter. MS-65 FH (PCGS).
Apart from a few swirls of light russet toning here and there around the peripheries, this is a brilliant Gem with frosty-white surfaces. It is also a sharply struck one with impressively full detail throughout the design. This final year Denver Mint issue in the Standing Liberty Quarter series is an overlooked rarity with Full Head detail. Only 2% of the mintage of 1.3 million coins is believed to have been imparted with such detail upon striking. When strike quality is considered in conjunction with overall preservation, the surviving population at the Gem level is dismal, and perhaps fewer than 100 such coins are available to collectors. This MS-65 FH example is among the finer certified and is sure to catch the eye of discerning collectors.
