St. Patrick Farthing
Undated (ca. 1652-1674) St. Patrick Farthing. Martin 6a.1-Ba.6, W-11500. Rarity-6+. Copper. Annulet, Small 8, and Martlet Below King. VF-20 (PCGS).
84.7 grains. Desirable smooth glossy tan with hard surfaces. Seemingly double splashed, with a small round splash at base of crown and another northeast of it, just inside the rim at 12 o'clock. Nicely centered and very attractive, boldly displaying the annulet, martlet, and figure 8 below the king. While apparently sharper examples are known, it would be tough to beat this one for eye appeal at its grade level.
PCGS# 42.
From the Bill Gleckler Collection. Earlier ex sale of the Ted L. Craige Collection, November 2012 Baltimore Auction, lot 6186.
