1808 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-105. Rarity-3. AU-55 (PCGS).
A highly appealing Choice AU early date Capped Bust half dollar. Both sides are quite lustrous and evenly toned in soft gray with subtle blue and peach-gold overtones. Impressively smooth and well preserved with no marks that bear mention. Boldly struck from an early state of the dies, just slightly off center. Only the otherworldly PCGS MS-67 Gardner specimen is graded higher at PCGS for this die variety.
