1805 Draped Bust Dime. JR-2. Rarity-1. 4 Berries. AU-50 (PCGS).
An attractive piece with wisps of reddish-apricot and lilac-blue iridescence adorning otherwise pewter-gray surfaces. The detail is well balanced and universally bold, making this early dime an ideal candidate for inclusion in a high grade type set. The two known die marriages of the 1805 Draped Bust dime are easily distinguished by counting the number of berries on the reverse olive branch; JR-2, offered here, is the more frequently encountered in numismatic circles, although the type as a whole is scarce to rare in higher grades.
PCGS# 4477. NGC ID: 236S.
From the Birdwatcher Type Set, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit The Nature Conservancy.
