1853-DERI Octagonal $1. BG-518. Rarity-5. Liberty Head. AU-55 (PCGS).
One of the popular Period I DERI dollar varieties, an issue that actually saw circulation in the hustle-bustle heyday of the California Gold Rush. DERI maker's mark at bottom of reverse for M. Deriberpie, 1852 to 1854, whose known varieties today include some of the rarest of all California Small Denomination gold dollar issues.
