PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphos, 285-246 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (14.14 gms), Tyre Mint, dated RY 24 (262/11 B.C.). NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5.

Svor-649; CPE-566; SNG Cop-486. Obverse: Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, wearing aegis around neck; Reverse: Eagle standing left on thunderbolt; to left, monogram above downward club; monogram to right. Handsomely toned and quite pleasing, this example stands as a rather superior example from the reign.
