A seldom-seen uncirculated Red Seal note from the Hartford National Bank, this Choice New 63PPQ from PCGS reminds one how bright and attractive these notes were when they were new. There is one other uncirculated example known with similar bank and treasury serial numbers, suggesting the existence of a sheet a number of years ago. Over thirty years have passed since this note last crossed the auction block in 1991, at which time it brought $525. More recently, the other Uncirculated example brought $2,645 in June 2012 and is a far better indicator of this note's present value.
