MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Philip III, 323-317 B.C. AR Tetradrachm, Tyre Mint, dated RY 28 of 'Ozmilk (322/1 B.C.). NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Edge Chips.
cf. Pr-3272 (Ake). Struck in the name of Alexander III (the Great). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding scepter and eagle; in left field, -|O (Phoenician 'K = 'Ozmilk [king of Tyre]) above || ||| ||| = (date [28 in Phoenician]); Phoenician A below throne. Despite the edge chips and surface dullness, this example provides bold strike detail and an overall solid nature.
