Fr. 1655. 1953 $5 Silver Certificates. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. Mismatched Serial Number Error.
The near-Gem 1953 $5 displays a massive margin at left, almost wide enough to drive a Mack truck on. But the coolness lies within the serial number error, the left being A70586214A and the right A70586100A. Usually just a single or double number are wrong on these types of errors, but rarely three. This error is the result of a mechanical error of the number wheel becoming stuck during the printing process, according to the book United States Paper Money Errors by Dr. Frederick J. Bart.
