Description

Fr. 1012a. 1914 Red Seal $50 Federal Reserve Note. Boston. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20 Details. Repaired Edge Tear, Partial Ink Stamp.
A mere four examples of this Friedberg number are reported in Track and Price's census, which only attests to the scarcity of these $50 Red Seals. This "a" variety from the Boston district is the sole example listed on PCGS Banknote's population report. We have also not offered this catalog number publicly in the past 30 years, so collectors that have been frothing at the mouth to acquire one can finally do so today. This piece is likely missing from even the most advanced collections of U.S. paper, and is sure to draw spirited bidding once the auction opens. PCGS Banknote comments "Repaired Edge Tear, Partial Ink Stamp."
From the Boston Proper Collection.
Estimate: $4000.00- $6000.00
