Fr. 1012b. 1914 Red Seal $50 Federal Reserve Note. Boston. PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58.
An absolutely unheard of grade rarity when considering the catalog number and district for this $50 Federal Reserve Note type. A look at the PMG population report shows no notes in the Uncirculated grade range and just this sole example in EF through CAU. The PMG pop report shows nothing better than a Choice Fine-15 example. Just six examples are recorded in Track and Price's census for the variety. The note meets the eye with great detail having a bold impression and terrifically dark red overprints. The circulation is so light that we cannot detect where it lies when looking through the encapsulation surface. Overall, an item that will get significant attention. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
