CANADA. The Merchants Bank of Canada. 10 Dollars, 1917. CH# 460-20-08. PCGS Banknote Extremely Fine 40.
P-S1168. Signature combination of Allan & Macarow. Montreal, Quebec. Printed by ABNC, Ottawa. Portraits of bank officers at left and right, with a cargo ship & steam engine at center. The color is quite attractive for the grade, and this is one of the finer examples that we can recall handling for the type. For instance, although this note is in a PCGS Banknote holder, PMG has only graded one example in a Fine 15 grade. In fact, this is the first time that we can recall handling this elusive piece. Canadian collectors will go nuts at the chance to try and take this elusive treasure home, so expect a hard fought battle to win the prize. PCGS Banknote Pop 1/No Others Graded.
