Uncommonly high grade for an 1869 ten, both sides reveal ample semi-prooflike finish in the fields. The devices are boldly to sharply rendered throughout with original rose-honey color enhancing strong eye appeal. The Philadelphia Mint struck just 1,830 circulation strike eagles in 1869 and survivors number fewer than 100 (if not 75) coins in all grades.
