GERMANY. Teutonic Order. 2 Talers, 1614. Hall Mint. Maximilian (as Grand Master). NGC AU-50.
Dav-5854; KM-30. This type features Maximilian III, the Archduke of Austria, in his role as Grand Master of the Teutonic Order--a Catholic religious order similar to the Knights of Rhodes (later Malta). Very attractively toned and well preserved, along with an alluring strike, though a minor planchet flaw is noted for completeness near the edge at 4 o'clock on the obverse.
