THRACE. Islands off Thrace. Thasos. AR Stater (8.72 gms), ca. 525-463 B.C. NGC VF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Smoothing.
HGC-6, 331; SNG Cop-1010. Obverse: Satyr advancing right, carrying off protesting nymph; Reverse: Quadripartite incuse square. This Stater is lightly circulated but presents bold details. The surfaces are gray overall with darker toning on the fields, adding emphasis to the well-struck devices.
