"1776" (ca. 1867) Washington / Libertas Americana Muling. By John Adams Bolen. Musante JAB M-4, Musante GW-798, Baker-56. Silver. MS-63 (PCGS).
25.4 mm. Light pearlescent-gray surfaces with light pastel violet, blue-green and rose accenting the prooflike fields. Sharply struck and attractive even though the fields exhibit gentle handling. Bolen is believed to have struck six examples in silver, with further pieces by John W. Kline. The present example, on a thick planchet like the MS-64 specimen offered above, is likely a Bolen product.
