"1909" (1960s) United States Assay Commission Medal. Restrike. By George T. Morgan. JK AC-53. Rarity-3. Bronze. MS-62 (NGC).
40 mm x 57 mm, plaque. Mottled olive-gray reverse toning interrupts otherwise dominant golden-bronze patina. The Julian-Keusch reference on this series states that these restrikes of the 1909 issue were struck in error, although the medals were subsequently sold to contemporary collectors.
